Content
To include:

• Acting safely, promptly and effectively with emergencies at work
• Using the materials in the first aid box and buying supplies
• Understanding the duties of employers and the legal framework
• Simple record-keeping
• Using personal hygiene principles to prevent cross-infection
• Dealing with a casualty who requires cardio-pulmonary resuscitation
• Management of an unconscious casualty
• Control and treatment of bleeding, including clinical shock
• Burns and scalds
• Anaphylactic shock
• Injuries to bones, muscles and joints
• Chest injuries; eye injuries
• Poisons, gases and fumes, asthma, seizures
• Treating a casualty who is choking
• Recognising major and minor illness and responding appropriately

Theory and practical assessments will be carried out on Day 3
