Suitable for
Those with first aid qualifications who need to be able to respond in a situation where use of an AED (automatic external defibrillator) is necessary and provision of basic life support

Course content
By the end of the training, delegates should be able to:

• Understand anatomy and physiology of the heart & lungs
• Have refreshed knowledge of primary and secondary surveys
• Have revised Basic Life Support techniques
• Understand the benefits of early defibrillation
• Manage a scene where defibrillation is necessary
• Understand and know how to use an AED
• Complete appropriate documentation

Delegates will be assessed at the end of the session on their practical skills and theoretical knowledge.
